After spending way too many hours looking at all of the Met Gala photos, I stumbled upon this incredible artist and realized these might actually be better. I knew I had seen the work of Katie Rodgers before (her beautiful watercolors have been used by Kate Spade, Coach, Valentino to name a few), but her fashion sketches are definitely my favorite. Her website Paper Fashion, first launched in 2009, includes prints, calendars as well as original work. Refinery29 enlisted Rodgers to sketch some of her favorite gowns from Monday night's event, which she created in about 10 minutes using an Instagram photo as her inspiration. That's proof pictures do speak a thousand words.
