When I first moved into my apartment, my mom let me "borrow" her record player which at the time I had every intention of returning. I had very few records anyway, so I thought it could be a nice little addition to my housewarming party at the most. But fast-forward almost two years (and quite a few records) later and my little loan is still sitting pretty in my solarium with stacks upon stacks of records around it. And its turned into one of my favorite ways to end the day. Putting a record on, listening to it crackle and pop as the needle hits the vinyl... its therapeutic in its own little musical way.
Above are some of my favorites so far, on "loan" from my dad and his vast collection spanning over 50 years. His favorite might be the original A Hard Day's Night from his high school days, but the others are pretty amazing as well. And unlike the record player, he will definitely see them again one day. But probably not anytime soon.
