PEOPLE IN GLASS HOUSES

I've been frequenting J.Crew's website often enough lately that you would think I'd notice they also have an amazing blog featured as well.  It's always cool to see the back stories, hear from the insiders and see where inspiration is drawn. For their November Style Guide catalog, J.Crew traveled to New Canaan, Connecticut to the The Philip Johnson Glass House.  Built in 1949, the house measures 32 by 56 feet and sits tucked away on Johnson's 49-acre property.

The house, which includes a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and a room for dining, has no interior walls, and is considered one of the greatest examples of true modernistic design.  At just an hour outside of NYC, this is a perfect afternoon getaway to what seems to be a very serene escape.
