Ending this week on a whimsical note. These are just a few of the works by Gloria Vanderbilt that were recently on display at the 1stdibs New York gallery. I'm bummed I missed seeing these in person (it's blink and you miss it with exhibits), but I just love how sweet and dream-like these sketches are.
Vanderbilt has lead such an incredible life with quite a resume behind her; actress, socialite, writer, designer, but always as she says, an artist. Less than a week after her 90th birthday she debuted her latest exhibit "The Left Hand is the Dreamer" and shows no sign of slowing down. Pulling from mythology, the left hand is often called the dreamer because the ring finger on the left hand leads directly to the heart. After all, art and love really do go hand in hand.
